Today she asked me if it was my bowel that had ruptured and when I said "yes" she then asked if I had had a colostomy, naturally the answer again was "yes". All of her life she has suffered from urine infections. Finally our GP decided that we need to find out the cause. She had an MCU test today, where they catheterised her and put dye into her bladder to see where the urine is going. She became a bit distressed when the catheter was going in, then she had trouble emptying her bladder.

I have posted that she hasn't been well for a while, although she had not told us "kids" about this particular ailment. She is still bleeding from the rectum and very loose stool (although she isn't like this every day but most days) and she has now lost about 16-18 kgs (about 35 pounds) since the middle of December (without trying).

This has nothing to do with ostomy, but my parents really need to sale there home, and the only way they can get enought out of it to buy a house closer to me is if it can be sold commerial. This may not seem like a big deal to you guys, But they are getting older and they live so far away I really want them closer to me so I can watch out for them and see them more. So will you guys pray that this house gets sold which ever way they have to do it. Zander has taken ill again , he has fluid retention all over his body and is passing blood in his urine, he is seeing a urologist as soon as possible, also he is going to have scans done of his Kidneys , he will have to go to theatre for investigations as well.

He really does need a bit of good luck , please keep him in your thoughts and prayers , we need all the help we can get over here right now

Bet you thought I forgot about you all, huh? Well, I haven't, I've just been really busy. Here's the latest on the family.

Mom is doing well. She's still healing, of course, and is sore on her right side (where the ostomy is), and her back gives her trouble (she had an epidural for 4 or 5 days). She is eating good. In fact she is eating better than she has in the last 2 years. She can drink milk now! She loves it, but before the ostomy it would upset her tummy. My dad has knee surgery next Wednesday. He is having total knee replacement on his right knee. He had the left one done last year, so knows what to expect, and he's not looking forward to it. BUT, he knows it will help him. I'll be staying with mom while he's in the hosp. & rehab.

Mom is doing good physically. She is healing well. Emotionally, she has her bad days, but you all know what she is going thru. I'm still really worried about her. Sounds like this ostomy stuff can be pretty troublesome at times, but then again, we can only pray that her quality of life will be better.
